10 March '10

Villawood Properties are pleased to confirm that the barriers have been removed and Evans Road, bordering the eastern end of the community, is now open for traffic, significantly reducing large vehicle traffic throughout Stages 1-6.

Marriott Waters is celebrating another milestone with the 400th home now under construction. The eastern end of the Marriott Waters estate is a continuing hive of activity with well over 100 homes in various stages of construction throughout the recently completed Stages 7, 8, 12 and 10. Due to the extensive building activity now taking place, the planting of street trees will be delayed until the majority of homes have been constructed.

Landscaping works to Boland Drive and Brookwater Parade are progressing well and will be completed over the next few weeks.  These works include installation of an irrigation system, planting of garden beds and trees throughout the centre median strips and planting of street trees to nature strips.

Plans are currently being finalised for Lyndhurst Local Park located on Boland Drive which will include extensive trees, grassed areas, a picnic shelter with barbeque facilities and a children’s play area.  Works are expected to be underway once the necessary approvals are in place.

Civil works throughout Stages 9 & 11 are progressing well with construction completion expected towards the end of March.

Earthworks to the second wetland are now complete and landscapers, RHA and Australian Ecosystems, have moved onto the site.  The aquatic plantings are complete with planting of the terrestrial plants to continue over the coming months.  Footpath works are well over half way complete, providing valuable pedestrian and cycling links around the second wetland, with further landscaping of garden beds and trees to follow.

Five more of Marriott Waters’ famous sculptures are ready for delivery to site with installation due in the coming weeks. These sculptures continue with the theme of the ‘Pelican Lifecycle’ designed and created by renowned artist, Folko Kooper.  Six sculptures from the series have already been installed, so be sure to get out and have a look at this spectacular artwork.

The Lyndhurst Boulevard bridge crossing between the first and second wetlands is nearing completion featuring stylish stone pillars, architecturally designed view-through fencing finished with corten steel reeds matching the wetland sculptures.

The design of the third wetland body has now been finalised and we expect earthworks to be underway in March 2010.

Stay tuned for more construction updates to come!
