Preserving Melbourne’s precious drinking water supplies, recycled water is one of the most talked about and untapped resources that will combat drought and aid in the reduction of water use not only in times of drought but forever.
Marriott Waters is the only residential community in Lyndhurst currently designed to have direct access to class-A recycled water for non-consuming purposes.
Providing every household within the estate an alternative water source to irrigate gardens, wash windows and cars and for toilet flushing, recycled water will become a natural part of daily life.
Research tells us Marriott Waters residents can reduce drinking water consumption by up to as much as 40 percent per household and are not subject to enforced water restrictions, further providing residents the ability to maintain green gardens all year round.
Treated to class-A standard as outlined by the Victorian Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and delivered through separately colour coded, purple pipes, recycled water enters each home independently to potable drinking water and is easy to use.
Recycled water CAN be used for:
- toilet flushing
- watering the garden
- ornamental ponds and water features
- washing cars or home windows
Recycled water CANNOT be used for:
- drinking
- cooking
- bathing
- washing clothes
- swimming pools or spas
